I played with the idea to stage the dinner at separate places and to invite mostly new guests to each party. The basic idea to present a dinner as a performance was something I had thought about for some time. A new idea was to play with alienation effects in food: How can I bring one ingredient into a different physical state, or how can I turn a traditional starter into a dessert? It was important to me to link the food to artists I like or to a certain piece of artwork and to use elements of these works to transform them into a menu.
